Welcome to 2H
We have designed a really exciting creative curriculum for the coming year based on what has inspired the children, and adding to these topics to meet all the requirements of the National Curriculum. Our literacy will all be based around these topics and some fantastic books have been chosen to engage the children and provide excellent opportunities to write.
We have had a really good first week. The children have come in beautifully and settled in well to the morning routine in 2H. They all look so smart in their uniforms.
This year P.E. will be on Thursday and Friday. You will also be receiving a letter shortly to say which day your child's home reader will be changed.
This half term our topic is Muck, mess and mixtures. We started our new topic with some very messy play!
Our second topic is Street Detectives, we will be kicking off the topic with a visit to the Black Country Living Museum. This topic will look at local history and how houses, shops and the area have changed over the years.
Land Ahoy! Autumn 1
This year our first topic will be Land Ahoy! To kick off the topic the children will be looking at different boats, boat building and enjoying a boat trip on the St. Catherine around some of Birmingham's many miles of canals.
We visited the canals in Birmingham and went on a canal boat to see what it would feel like to float along the canal.
