Home School Agreement

The Home School Agreement is a partnership between school, home and pupils.  It outlines the expectations of us all in working together to provide the best education for every child at The Oaks.

 

At The Oaks Primary School, we will:

 

 

  • Embrace the school’s values
  • Provide a high quality education to fulfil our value's statement and aims
  • Contact parents if there is a problem with attendance, punctuality, health, behaviour or your child’s work
  • Inform parents of their child’s progress at regular meetings and in an annual report
  • Inform parents about the curriculum
  • Keep parents informed of school events
  • Set homework and provide guidance to parents about how homework is allocated, when it is due and how to help
  • Develop the “whole” child by providing a rich, exciting and balanced curriculum
  • Prepare children for the future so that they become valuable members of our society
  • Have high expectations of all children
  • Respond to any conflict in a restorative manner
  • Respect the rights of all children in line with the UN Convention

 

 

As Parents/Carers, we will:

 

 

  • Embrace the school’s values
  • Make sure my child arrives at school regularly, on time and in the correct school uniform
  • Let the school know by 8.30am of any absence and any concerns that may affect my child’s work or behaviour
  • Support school policies and guidelines for behaviour
  • Support my child in homework and other opportunities for home learning
  • Attend parent’s evenings to discuss my child’s progress
  • Complete consent forms to identify if my child can be photographed or videoed at school events throughout the year for internal displays, school information brochures and for use on the school website or twitter
  • Adhere to the Parent Code of Conduct and the school’s expectation of no mobile use on school grounds
  • Support and take an interest in my child’s learning and achievements outside of school
  • Encourage children to respect themselves and others
  • Give permission for my child to attend school trips during the school day
  • Attend workshops to support my child’s learning
  • Make sure holidays are not taken during term time
  • Discuss this Home/School agreement with my child
  • Only use photos taken at school events for our own personal use and not for sharing on social media
  • Adhere to 95% attendance minimum for your child
  • Respect the rights of all children in line with the UN Convention

 

 

As a pupil, I will:

 

 

  • Follow the school rules
  • Meet the school’s learning behaviour expectations
  • Embrace the school values
  • Take care of all equipment and the school building
  • Show respect for others
  • Allow others to learn
  • Complete homework on time and read daily
  • Take care of my own possessions and bring the correct equipment
  • Wear the correct school uniform every day
  • Ensure my PE kit is in school daily
  • Use the Internet in a responsible way
  • Tell my teacher or another adult if I have any concerns
  • Always work to the best of my ability
