Friday 15th December
A big thank you to all the parents and family that joined us for our ‘Songs Around the Christmas Tree’ today. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.
Wednesday 6th December
We took our younger children with their parents along to Highbury park today to feed the ducks. The children had a wonderful time and enjoyed exploring in the trees and leaves.
Thursday 2nd November
Nursery have enjoyed exploring pumpkins this week. Take a look at some of the things we have done. We even finished the week by making pumpkin soup. Yummy!
Friday 13th October
We have been thinking about spotty and stripey patterns this week in Nursery. The children have enjoyed exploring loose parts this week to make pictures on canvases. They look really effective against the white background.
Friday 29th September
A very wet week, but it didn't stop our children from working together to problem solve. Just look at this amazing sequence of pictures. With no adult support, some of our older children helped a younger child to build a tower with the cable reels. They worked out, through discussion, who was tallest, how to make it taller, and how to use steps to make it even taller!
September 22nd 2017
Our new nursery children discovered the delights of the mud kitchen this afternoon. They were fully engrossed in their play, and learnt so much about cooperation and sharing. Chocolate cake all round!
Nursery are looking forward to lots of our children coming back and welcoming our new children very soon.
Children are due to start on Monday 11th September, please see your letters received last term for details. We will be carrying out home visits for new children on Wednesday 6th, Thursday 7th and Friday 8th September. If you would like to be reminded of your time slot, please contact the school office.
We are especially looking forward to starting our new 2 Year Old's Room!
We have a new wood work area in Nursery and the children have been enjoying exploring it.
They have been very sensible and taking care with the hammers and nails.
Woodwork gives the children opportunities to problems solve, measure, build fine and gross motor muscles, take risks, concentrate for a sustained time, think creatively, learn how to join materials and more. Just look at how these children are engaged in their learning and at all of the amazing things they have been making!
Monday 21st November
Our current topic is 'Can we explore it?' And as part of this we have been reading 'Walking in the Jungle'.
Look at these fabulous playdough creations inspired by some jungle photos.
In Autumn 1 we explored and learned about the colours all around us.
