Well done to our mixed Year 4/5/6 team who played basketball last night and almost smashed it through to the Birmingham School Games Finals!!!

They beat Hollywood 2 - 0, St. Martins 8 - 0, Percy Shurmer 10 - 2 and Yardley Wood 4 - 0.  Unfortunately, Billesley blasted us and they won 12 - 0.

A superb effort from all of you.  Keep up the teamwork.

We have had teams competing in both dodgeball and basketball competitions this week.  There were two Yr 3/4 dodgeball teams, the 4S team came second in their group and the 4P team came first overall and are through to the Birmingham Schools Final.  The Yr 5/6 basketball team played well as a team.  Well done all of you!

We have had a few competitions this week and in all events, we have come third place.  Well done to all of our teams for representing The Oaks so well.  The Year 3/4 team were lucky to experience playing at West Bromwich Albion's training ground for their football event.  What an experience!!!

Most of the competitions have been football but our newest event was table tennis.  It was a new experience for the team and an enjoyable event.  There was some good competition and the children played well.

The Oaks Year 3/4 mixed team and the Year 5/6 girl’s team played in football tournaments last week.  Our mixed team won three games and lost three but showed determination and resilience in all matches, whereas the Year 5/6 girl’s team won three and lost only one.  These results put them at the top of the group table and through to the finals on 24th October.  Come on girls, you can do it!!

Three Yr 5/6 teams competed in a Dodgeball competition this week, and like they did with the balls, absolutely smashed it!!!  They managed to get two teams into the final, and therefore win 1st and 2nd places.  A superb team effort from all of you.  Well done Team Oaks.
