Tribal Tales

This half term we will be looking at pre-history. We will be learning about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. We will be creating stone age music and cave art with the help of Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, in order to put on a Mini-Festival for the school and wider community on Monday 25th April.

Year 3's 'Music Assembly' about the Greeks.

Greek Day

Professor Maginty

Gods and Mortals

This half term we are learning all about the Greeks and we will be focusing on the Gods and Goddesses of Ancient Greeks. We will be studying songs about Greece with Mr Rodgers and looking at Myths and Legends in Literacy.

Volcanoes

Tremors

This half term we will be learning about natural disasters, such as volcanos and earthquakes.  We have begun by looking at what volcanoes are and making our own eruptions with fizzy pop and mentos mints . The children then designed their own volcanoes and filled them with baking powder and vinegar to make them bubble.

Children in Need

Thank you to all the children that dressed up in Year 3 today. We raised lots of money and it was great to see you in your fab Superhero costumes.

We then planned and wrote our own superhero stories and shared them with Year 1.

Scrumdiddlyumptious

The children in Year 3 are enjoying their new topic on Scrumdiddlyumptious. We kicked the topic off with a trip to Cadbury Word which everyone enjoyed (especially Mrs Reeves) and are now reading the story of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.

The children celebrated their learning by showing off all their fabulous, scientific, magnetic games to the children in Year 1.

Magnetic games

Roaming Robots

The children had a fantastic morning, building and fighting their own Robots. A big thank you to John Findlay for coming in to show us his robot collection and helping us to make robots.

Welcome to Year 3

A big welcome to all the children in Year 3. I am really looking forward to being your teacher this Year. I  have some really fun topics planned for you, including our first topic all about Mighty Metals, where we will be looking at forces and even making our own Robots.

The Big Hoot Power Points

Welcome to Year 2!

Wow! Can you believe that we are into our Spring term already! This half term our topic is 'Beat Band Boogie', a very musical adventure! A full breakdown of the areas of study for this topic can be found on our class newsletter.

Year 2's topic this Autumn has been Muck, Mess and Mixtures.  We've been experimenting with all sorts of mucky mixtures and getting in a right old mucky mess.  We decided to share what we've learnt by making some instructional videos. The children wrote the scripts, worked the camera, recorded the sound and proved to be very professional film crews!

We hope you enjoy getting in a mucky mess at home too. Have fun!
