Welcome to the Year 5 Class page!

The teachers in Year 5 are Miss Batchelor, Mrs Buggins and Mrs Stupak. We are so excited to welcome all children back to school in September. We are really looking forward to this year and have some exciting trips and topics planned for the children to enjoy. 

Our PE days are Monday and Thursday, please ensure that children have their full kit in school on those days. If children do not have a school kit, please contact the school office to order one.

Homework will be set every Friday and will consist of Spellings, Reading and Maths. Please encourage your children to complete and send these back in on the following Friday. There is an opportunity for the children to earn three learning values for completing and returning their homework.

Research has shown that children who read regularly (at least 10 minutes a day) have a broader vocabulary and good comprehension skills, that support them throughout their lives. Children in Year 5 can earn three learning values for returning their reading record, which has been signed by an adult/ older sibling/ family member, to school on their reading day.

To support their maths, children can access Times Table Rock Stars. If any children have forgotten their log in details, they can ask their class teacher, who will print them out.
