Year 5

 November 2016. 5W.

As part of our latest topic, Stargazers, Year 5 have been writing myths about 'why a full moon makes you crazy!' Following on from this we have created movie trailers for our myth. We hope you enjoy them. smiley

Tuesday 7th October

KS2 visited cineworld cinema on Tuesday to watch Ten pieces. Ten Pieces aims to open up the world of classical music to children – and inspire them to develop their own creative responses to the pieces through music, dance or digital art.  It was a great experience for our children.

“ I found classical music to be really interesting. My favourite instrument used was the violin. I liked that Barney Harwood from CBBC was involved, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.” Emma Steele Year 4

Tuesday 23rd September 2014

Year 4 have had a great day today! As you may already know our topic for the term is Robot Rampage, so in Literacy we have been focusing on The Iron Man. Our objective was to re-tell chapter 3, we were able to do this using 'Talk for Writing', which was great fun!

Below are some pictures of our actions for particular parts of the chapter, ask your child what each one means. We hope you enjoy them!

Robot Wars

Welcome to the Year 4 page,

We’ve had a great start to the term, the children have come back eager to learn. This week we have started our ‘Robot Rampage’ topic which has been great fun. Towards the end of term we will hold a workshop where the children will get to show you everything they have learnt about robots, keep your eyes peeled!

Just to remind you, P.E will take place on a Tuesday and a Wednesday and they will need a kit that consists of black shorts, white t-shirt and black pumps. Throughout the year, your child may be given the opportunity to take part in extra sporting activities, therefore it makes sense for the children to leave their kits in school for the term.

Homework will go out on Friday and be due in on Wednesday. Home reading books will go home with children every day but we ask that they come back every morning also. The children will have a reading journal to accompany their book which contains a list of spellings, the spellings that need to be learnt will be highlighted and the children will then be tested on a Wednesday.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Year 4
